‘Hot pregnant woman’ sentenced to death after murder conviction
The pregnant woman charged with killing her mother and stabbing her to death in a hotel room has been sentenced to life in prison without parole, authorities said.
The 33-year-old woman from the Bronx was arrested on May 6, when authorities were still investigating the murders of the two women at a hotel in New York City’s Long Island.
According to court documents, the woman told police that her mother was pregnant with twins and was in a motel room with her and her husband when they were killed.
Her brother-in-law and another man who were staying with her in the motel room were also arrested and charged with helping the woman kill her mother, according to court records.
According the documents, police found a knife, a handgun and other items in the room.
The woman was also charged with stabbing her mother to death and dismembering her body.
Prosecutors said the mother, named in court documents as Elizabeth, had been pregnant with the twins for a year.
Her mother, who was pregnant and was living in the hotel room, was stabbed multiple times, according the court documents.
Her body was later found in a garbage dumpster.
The mother was also found with cuts on her neck.
Elizabeth’s attorney, Stephen O’Donnell, said his client was devastated by the charges.
He said his clients’ mother was a single mother, and that the victim’s brother- in-law, who had also been arrested in the murders, had taken the family to the motel to get food.
The charges were eventually dropped because the mother was not a threat to anyone, O’Malley said.
